Ernestina Sodi, a distinguished writer and journalist, passed away after suffering health complications from two heart attacks, which led to her hospitalization in intensive care in Mexico City.
On October 18, it was reported that Thalía’s older sister, aged 64, experienced a first heart attack and was rushed to a hospital in Mexico City. Upon arrival, she suffered a second heart attack. Due to the circumstances surrounding her hospitalization, and after it was confirmed by Gustavo Adolfo Infante that she was in intensive care, it is speculated that her death was caused by complications from the rupture of the aorta, which led to the two heart attacks.
While the official cause of death has not yet been confirmed, her daughter, Camila Sodi, shared the news on her official Instagram account. In a short video, she posted a childhood photograph of Ernestina Sodi, accompanied by the message “November 8, 2024.” It is important to note that the writer had been in intensive care following health problems. Further updates will be provided as information becomes available.
Ernestina Sodi was born on July 24, 1960, in Mexico City, to publicist Yolanda Miranda Mange and criminologist Ernesto Sodi Pallares. She was the third daughter of the couple, who also had Thalía, Federica, and Gabriela. Ernestina also had an older half-sister, Laura Zapata, from her mother’s previous marriage to Guillermo Zapata Pérez de Utrera.
From her relationship with journalist and lawyer Fernando González Parra, Ernestina had two daughters: Camila and Marina. Camila Sodi, following in the footsteps of her famous aunts Thalía and Laura Zapata, ventured into the entertainment industry, including acting and music. Additionally, Camila has eight siblings, including Tessa and Naim, daughters of actress Nailea Norvind, who also pursued careers in acting. It is also known that two of her brothers have passed away, while the remaining siblings are not involved in the entertainment industry.
